This week I found delight in the form of homegrown cilantro, which I planted about a month ago. I’ve had cilantro plants in the past that I purchased at the supermarket, but I grew this cilantro in a big old planter from a packet of seeds and MAN is it delicious! I’ve been putting it in curries and on tacos and sometimes I sneak a little sprig here and there to chew on because it’s just that good. I’ve also planted some Thai eggplants, holy basil, thorny cilantro, and Thai red and green bird peppers, but they both seem to be really slow growers. Patience! I’ve noticed that lots of people are planting gardens around town and I figure that’s a result of everyone being home with extra time on their hands and a residual fear of not being able to get food at the grocery store. I’m sure the deer in town are excited for all of the new salad bars that keep popping up! :)
